It’s my favorite time of year again! No, I’m not talking about a fancy holiday or a beach vacation. It’s time for the 17th Annual Grizzly Jig Spring Tackle Show in Caruthersville, Missouri. Year after year, more people from around the United States are attending this four-day event. According to Grizzly Jig Sales and Service Manager, Lance Mansfield, last year they hosted approximately 5500 people from 28 states. Lance stated that this year they are expecting a great turnout as well. During the Spring Tackle Show, they have multiple discounts and sales throughout the entire store on all your favorite brands. Along with the already discounted items, when you check-out at the register, you get $5 off for every $30 spent, with a maximum of $20 off. They are a family-owned business that prides itself on customer care. If you need a product for crappie fishing, they have it.
I have said it before, if it’s crappie fishing related and Grizzly Jig doesn’t have it then you don’t need it. Their selection of crappie rods is unlike any most people have ever laid eyes on. In stock, they have B’n’M, Ozark, Denali, Jenko, Mr. Crappie, and their very own Grizzly Jig signature rod to name a few. The number of jigs, jig making supplies, hooks, sinkers, and other terminal they have in stock is a sight to behold. They have boat seats, seat pedestals, bait buckets, aerators, life jackets, and just about anything you can think of that any fisherman would ever need.
If the large selection of items overwhelms you, don’t worry, multiple pro-staff members will be there to assist you with your selection. The featured pro-staff members for this year’s event are Sam Heaton with B’n’M Poles, Russ Bailey with Brush Pile Fishing, Todd Huckabee with Huckabee Rods, Charlie and Travis Bunting who are National Champions, John Godwin with B’n’M Poles and Crappie Magnet, Ronnie Capps and Steve Coleman who are also National Champions, Tony Sheppard with Jenko, and Wally Marshall aka Mr. Crappie. Each day, pro-staff members will be presenting seminars on crappie fishing. This is an excellent time to hear exactly how the pros do it. They will answer any questions you may have about crappie fishing. The will also share tips and tricks on certain techniques.

January 23rd is Fisherman’s Night Out, and Grizzly Jig caters a meal to their customers at their store. There you will have an opportunity to eat and speak to some of the best in the business of crappie fishing. Doors open at 7:00 a.m. and close a 6:00 p.m. on the 24th and 25th.
