B’n’M Pole Company

Having been in business since 1947, the folks at B’n’M Pole Company know a thing or two when it comes to making a quality fishing rod.
I interviewed B’n’M Pole Company Director of Marketing and Wholesale Accounts Manager, Jason McDuffie. “B’n’M Pole Company was founded after World War II as a broom and mop manufacturing facility,” McDuffie explained. That is where the company got the name B’n’M. According to McDuffie, the founder later began selling cane poles. “When the cane poles became the bulk of his business, the brooms and mops went away and the rods stayed,” and so did the name.
In 1947, the company started with three employees. Currently, ten employees handle all of their orders in a warehouse in West Point, Mississippi.
B’n’M Pole Company is the leading manufacturer of crappie poles in the world today. Their product line has evolved to include top-quality gear for anglers who fish for more than panfish, including their Silver Cat collection of catfish products. McDuffie said, “We have a rod for everything, but straight up bass rods.” B’n’M Pole Company has launched several new rods for 2020.
One of the new rods for 2020 is the Silver Cat Elite. It is a 7.5 foot, 1 piece rod made of E-glass composite material. This provides extreme strength and durability needed to haul in big catfish. It was designed for suspended drifting and anchoring. Another nice feature of the rod is a stiff backbone, with a faster tip to more easily see bites. Other prominent features of this rod are a double-nut locking reel seat made of aircraft-grade aluminum. It also has a high visibility tip which is especially useful for night fishing and a high-quality X-Grip handle that provides extra grip.
Another new rod for 2020 is the Pro-Staff Bumping Rod. It is a one-piece rod offered in 7 foot and 7.5-foot lengths. This version provides a stiffer blank than the original. Also incorporated is a stainless steel tip eyelet designed to handle the stress and abuse that monster catfish put on it. Bumping is one of the fastest-growing techniques in catfishing. If you fish swift current rivers like the Mississippi and Ohio then this rod is for you!
The next new rod for 2020 is Leland’s TCB. B’n’M Pole Company teamed up with Leland’s Lures, makers of Trout Magnet and Crappie Magnet. Whether fishing Trout, Crappie, or Bluegill (TCB) this is a fantastic ultralight rod! This rod is 6.5 feet in length and two pieces. It is extremely lightweight and will provide an exhilarating fight when trout, crappie, or bluegill fishing. The TCB series is made of premium graphite and is built to use lures as light as 1/64 ounce on 2lb. test line! The split handle has a uniquely designed reel seat which reduces weight and feels great in your hand!
Another new rod for 2020 is the Mossy Oak Edition Brushcutter. For this rod, B’n’M Pole Company teamed up with Mossy Oak to make this favorite look as good as it works. It features Mossy Oak’s Agua Blacktip pattern; this respected workhorse of a rod looks great and is designed to perform in the harshest of conditions. This rod comes in 10 foot and 12-foot lengths and is two pieces. It is still made with IM6 graphite for strength and sensitivity. It also features a comfortable EVA foam handle. This new design also has 20% more backbone than the original.
McDuffie said they were working on a 7.5 foot Sam Heaton one-piece, saltwater rod. The main purpose of this rod will be inshore fishing. It will be able to handle species like speckled trout, redfish, and more. It will eventually be made in four different models. The rod will be available in medium and light action, and both actions will be offered in spinning and casting. McDuffie said, “It is still also in the works for possibly a 7′ rod in this model.”
